What We Preach

The Gospel

The Gospel is simple. It is the good news that Jesus Christ came to earth as the only begotten Son of God (John 3:16, John 1:14,18) and gave Himself up willingly (John 10:18, Titus 2:14, Hebrews 7:27, Galatians 1:4, 1 John 3:16) as a living sacrifice to atone for the sins of the world (John 1:29, Hebrews 10:10, 1 John 2:2), by dying on a Cross (crucifixion). He was buried in a tomb after His death, and He resurrected in body on the 3rd day (Hosea 6:2, Matthew 17:23, Luke 24:7, John 2:19) by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 1:4). He IS alive!

Reconciliation with God

Due to the Fall in the Garden of Eden, an act of beguilement and disobedience, mankind was separated from God due to sin, and sin results in curses and death. We are reconciled back into perfect union and fellowship with God the Father through faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the Cross (see The Gospel).

Direct Access to God

Jesus Christ and the Father are one. We have direct access to Father God, the Creator of all things, through His Son, Jesus Christ, who forever lives to make intercession for us. We do not need to go to a priest or any leader or seemingly more spiritual person to talk to God for us. We have direct communication with Him by His Holy Spirit, who comes to indwell believers and be with them forever, as well as through Jesus Christ (John 10:30, John 14:16-17, Hebrews 4:14,16, Hebrews 7:24-25, 1 Tim, 2:5).

Carriers of God's Glory

The fullness of the Godhead is in Christ and Christ dwells in us (Colossians 2:9, 1 Cor. 3:16, 1 Cor. 6:19-20). This is the mystery of the gospel and the hope of glory we have (Ephesians 3:4,12).

Eternal Life Now

Eternal life is knowing the Father and the Son who He sent (John 17:3). This starts immediately after one becomes born-again (John 3:16, Romans 6:23, 1 John 5:20, John 11:25-26) .

Abundant Life Now

Christ made Himself so very poor and gave Himself up willingly so we can be very rich through abundant life in Him (John 10:10, 2 Cor. 8:9). This abundant life permeates every aspect of one's daily experience NOW, and isn't something that we obtain in Paradise (Heaven).

The Marriage Bed

Marriage recognized by God is a holy covenant between one man and one woman for life. God tells us to keep the marriage bed undefiled (Hebrews 13:4). Defilement can come in many ways, but chiefly by adultery, perversion, and fornication. Sex should be saved for marriage and experienced only in marriage between one man and one woman for life. If the marriage bed, however, does become defiled, there is a legitimate reason for the marriage covenant to dissolve, if both parties are unwilling to repent, reconcile, and rebuild.

One God | Three Persons

God is One in three distinct persons: The Father, The Son (Jesus Christ), Holy Spirit. Each person of God is distinct and co-equal (Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Isaiah 48:16, Deut. 6:4, Galatians 3:20, 1 Tim. 2:5, James 2:19). This is known as the Godhead (Colossians 2:9-10, Romans 1:20, Acts 17:29).

Righteousness in Christ

We are perfect in Christ Jesus and empowered by His Holy Spirit to live lives in holiness and purity without which no-one can see God (Hebrews 12:14, Hebrews 10:14, Matt. 5:48). We have the righteousness of Jesus Christ and it is up to us to choose to yield ourselves wholly to Holy Spirit and His power to live a life devoid of sin to the glory of God (Romans 6:6-7,11-14,15, 2 Cor. 5:21).

Freedom to Choose

Due to God's great love for us, we are given the freedom of choice: FREE WILL (Joshua 24:15)! We have to choose to believe God, believe His Word is True, believe the gospel, and live rightly for His glory. Our faith is living and must be walked out over a lifetime of godly choices (James 2:18). Our free will also means we have the ability to make poor choices which are contrary to God's Word. We are not called to make poor choices nor sin, but if we do, we can confess our sins to God, repent (change), and He will be quick to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

Sanctification is Done

Jesus Christ sanctified us and made us holy with His final atoning sacrifice on the Cross as Golgatha. It is finished! It's not a lifelong process. We are made holy through the Blood of the Lamb, which enables us to enter boldly into His Presence before His Throne of Grace (Hebrews 10:10,14, John 19:30, Hebrews 4:16).

The Word of God is Final Authority

The Word of God is Truth and the final authority in life. The Word of God is alive! It is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). The 66 books of the Biblical canon comprise the Holy Word of God that is inerrant, supernatural, and useful for doctrine, reproof, and correction (2 Timothy 3:16). The Word of God MUST be rightly divided (2 Timothy 2:15). It is rightly divided by the Holy Spirit who indwells all born-again believers.

Tongues are a Gift

1 Corinthians chapter 14 talks about the gift of tongues. Speaking in tongues is a gift of the Holy Spirit and is a sign to unbelievers (1 Cor. 14:22). All born-again believers of Jesus Christ should earnestly desire spiritual gifts (1 Cor. 14:1,12) and exercise them. The bible explicitly states do NOT forbid speaking in tongues (1 Cor. 14:39) and Apostle Paul spoke in tongues more than anybody he knew (1 Cor. 14:18). Speaking in tongues is normal and frequent in the lives of Holy Spirit filled born-again believers of Jesus Christ, and serves as personal edification (1 Cor. 14:4).

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

Jesus Christ is the baptizer not of water but of the Holy Spirit and fire (Matthew 3:11, Mark 1:8, Luke 3:16). The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a distinct event marking the life of a believer with an enduement of power from on High which serves a very holy purpose: to be infilled with God's Spirit and charged with divine empowerment for service. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is marked by a supernatural manifestation of God's divine presencean undeniable experience by the recipient and is evidenced by speaking in tongues. The Holy Spirit will come upon and infill believers supernaturally and continually at various times by the ministration of other spirit-filled believers or by Jesus's sovereignty. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is not a one-time experience although it can be. The Lord wants us to be filled and stay filled to overflowing out of His good pleasure (Acts 1:4, 1:5, 1:8, 11:15-16, 2:17-18, 2:33, 10:45, Luke 24:49).

Known by Our Fruits

Jesus warns us about false prophets in the last days and how we will only know a tree by its fruit, referring to how to determine if someone is a true disciple of Christ (Matthew 7:15-20, 7:22-23, 24:24, 1 John 4:1). We are called to bear fruit in keeping with repentance (Matthew 3:8). It is God at work in us that enables us to bear much fruit (Philippians 2:13). Without Christ we can do nothing (John 15:15).

Fruits vs. Gifts

Fruits are expected to be produced in the lives of believers due to the indwelling Holy Spirit at work. The Fruits of the Holy Spirit are different from the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and serve distinct purposes. Put simply, the fruits of the Holy Spirit reveal one's connectedness and yielding to Christ, while one's gifts are used for ministry and service to the Church. Gifts in operation do not equate to fruit production and vice versa. Fruits are more important than manifestation of gifts, because even gifts can be counterfeited, but the fruits of the Spirit cannot (Galatians 5:22-23, Ephesians 5:9, Colossians 3:12-14, 2 Timothy 1:7, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, 12:28-31, Romans 12:6-8, Ephesians 4:11-12, 1 Peter 4:10-11, 2 Corinthians 11:13-14).

Water Baptism

John the Baptist baptized his followers in the Jordan river as a public, outward prophetic act of repentance from sins, washing and regeneration, paving the way for the Messiah, Jesus. Jesus Christ submitted Himself to this ordinance and so did His followers, during His earthly ministry and after His resurrection and ascension. Water baptism was strongly encouraged immediately after one's conversion in their heart (Matthew 3:13-17, Matthew 28:19, Mark 1:9-11, Mark 16:16, Luke 3:3, 21-22, John 3:22,26, John 4:1-2, Acts 2:38,41, Acts 8:36-38, Acts 10:47, Acts 19:4-5, Acts 22:16).

Divine Protection

The Lord protects His obedient children. Divine protection is throughout the Bible (Deuteronomy 33:27, 2 Samuel 22:3, Psalm 3:3, 18:2, 23:4, 27:1, 34:7, 34:19, 46:1, 59:1, 91:1-2, 91:3, 91:4, 91:10-11, 121:7-8, Proverbs 18:10, Isaiah 43:2, 54:17, Daniel 3:17, John 10:28-29, 2 Thessalonians 3:3).

Grieving Holy Spirit

It is possible to grieve the Holy Spirit. We are commanded not to (Ephesians 4:30).

Quenching Holy Spirit

It is possible to quench the Holy Spirit. We are commanded not to (1 Thessalonians 5:19).

Christians Can Manifest Demons

Christians can manifest demons and should seek deliverance if they are being tormented by the devil (1 John 3:8, Colossians 1:13, 2 Tim. 4:18, Acts 10:38, Luke 4:18, Mark 7:27, 16:17, Matthew 10:8, 12:28, 15:26).

Jesus's Second Coming

Jesus is coming back visibly and bodily (Acts 1:11, Matthew 24:27, 24:30, 24:31, 26:64, Mark 13:26, 13:27, 14:62, Luke 21:27, John 14:3, 1 Corinthians 15:52, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8, 2:8, Titus 2:13, Hebrews 9:28, 1 Peter 5:4, 2 Peter 3:10, 3:12, 1 John 2:28, Revelation 1:7, 22:12, 22:20).

All Have Sinned

All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Nobody can say they have never sinned without being a liar, because each person is born into a fallen world as a fallen creation (1 John 1:10). This goes back to the Fall of mankind in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3).

The Only Way to Know God

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father but through Him. Not all ways lead to God (John 10:1). Only Jesus leads to God and He is God in the flesh (John 14:6, John 1:14, John 8:23, John 10:30, 1 Timothy 3:16).

Saved by Grace

Salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the Cross at Golgotha ~2,000 years ago. Nobody can boast about their salvation because it is a gift bought by the Blood Sacrifice of Jesus Christ, God Himself, and not by our own works (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Holy Communion

Holy Communion is an ordinance from the Lord for all born-again believers to partake in (Luke 22:19-20, 24:30). It must be taken properly by discerning the Lord's Body and Blood, otherwise there are consequences as warned in Scripture (1 Cor. 11:23-28). When we partake in the Lord's Body and Blood we proclaim His death until He comes (see Jesus's Second Coming).

Flesh vs. Spirit

The flesh is at enmity against God and wars against the spirit of a man. We are in Christ if we walk after the spirit and not after the lusts of the flesh (Romans 8:5-9, 7:18, 8:12-13, Galatians 5:16-17, 6:8, John 3:6, 6:63).

Divine Wealth

Divine wealth comes from the Lord. What the Lord entrusts to us needs to be stewarded well for His glory and to whom much is given, much is required (Deut. 8:18, 28:11-12, Joshua 1:8, Psalm 112:3, Proverbs 8:18, 10:22, 13:22, Ecclesiastes 5:19, Malachi 3:10, 2 Corinthians 9:8, Philippians 4:19).

Divine Health

Divine health was purchased by the stripes Jesus bore on His Body (Isaiah 53:3-5). Divine health is all throughout the Scriptures (Exodus 15:26, Deuteronomy 7:15, Psalm 30:2, 41:3, 42:11, 91:16, 107:20, 147:3, Proverbs 3:1-2, 3:7-8, 4:20-22, Isaiah 40:29, 40:31, 53:5, 57:18-19, Jeremiah 30:17, Malachi 4:2, Matthew 8:16-17, Mark 16:17-18, John 10:10, James 5:14-16, 1 Peter 2:24, 3 John 1:2).

Divine Provision
Falling Away

The Lord provides for our every need according to His abundant riches in glory by Christ Jesus. In Christ, all of our needs are met, not just spiritual but practical (Genesis 22:14, Exodus 16:4, 1 Kings 17:4, 17:14, 2 Kings 4:6, Psalm 23:1, 34:10, 37:25, 132:15, Matthew 6:11, 6:25-26, 6:31-33, Luke 12:24, 12:29-30, Philippians 4:19).

The Bible warns us about the dangers of departing from the Truth and the importance of standing firm on our faith in Jesus Christ. It is possible to depart from the Truth and fall away to a point of being eternally lost (Hebrews 3:12, 6:4-6, 10:26, 2 Peter 2:20-12, 1 Tim, 4:1). For those who reject God, God will reject (Matthew 10:33). However, if you truly trust God and surrender to His plan for your life in Christ, He will uphold you in His right hand (1 Cor. 15:1-2, Hebrews 10:23, John 10:28, Isaiah 41:10).

Unrepentant Sin an Open Door

The Bible warns us about the dangers of living in sin after coming to the knowledge of the Truth in Christ and receiving His forgiveness (Hebrews 10:26, 1 Thessalonians 4:7-8). We have forgiveness for sins which are past (Romans 3:25). If we do sin, however, we must confess it, repent and change our hearts to endeavor not to repeat it. Then God will be quick to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). If we sin and do not repent, it brings consequence. It creates defilement which leaves an open door to the enemy to come in and torment. We must not sin because when we sin we give place to the devil (James 4:7, 1 Cor. 5:5, 1 Tim. 1:20, Ephesians 4:27, John 5:14).
